Elevate Pathways

Elevate Career Explorer

Explore career areas that may be worth learning more about based on activities you enjoy, the way you prefer to work, and what matters to you.

Before you begin

There are no right or wrong answers. Choose what feels most like you. You can go back, change an answer, or select “I'm not sure.”

This is a free career-exploration tool. It is not a test and does not measure your ability, determine what you are qualified for, or diagnose a disability or condition.

For younger explorers

Please explore with a parent or guardian

The standard Career Explorer collects contact information and is for people age 13 or older. If you are under 13, ask a parent or guardian to contact Elevate Pathways so we can help you choose an appropriate option.

Your Career Exploration Snapshot

Career areas worth exploring

Your responses showed interest in several types of activities and work. These results are meant to give you ideas to explore—not tell you what career you should choose.

Career interest themes that stood out

Specific areas you may want to explore

Work environments you may prefer

What may matter to you in a career

Things that may help you do your best

These are considerations to explore when learning about workplaces. They do not determine which careers you can or cannot pursue.

Practical next steps

  1. Choose two or three career ideas that interest you and compare their usual education, training, licensing, and experience requirements.
  2. Look at real job postings to understand daily tasks, work settings, schedules, physical demands, and local opportunities.
  3. Try a low-risk next step such as an informational interview, short course, volunteer experience, job shadow, or career consultation.

Interests are only one part of career planning. Consider your skills, abilities, accessibility needs, finances, transportation, personal circumstances, and the labor market before making decisions.

Careers worth exploring

These are examples based on patterns in your responses. They are not predictions of ability, qualification, or success. Education labels describe a common entry pathway, not a rule; licensing and experience can also apply.

There's more to career planning than interests.

Education, academic skills, abilities, experience, training, accessibility needs, transportation, local job opportunities, and personal circumstances can all affect career planning.

About this tool and its limitations

The Elevate Career Explorer is a free tool designed to help you identify career areas you may want to learn more about. It is informed by established research about career interests, work preferences, career values, and the world of work.

It is not a standardized or scientifically validated assessment. It does not measure ability, aptitude, qualification, employability, or disability and should not be used for hiring, employment screening, eligibility, disability determination, or diagnosis.

Results are a starting point for exploration and are not a substitute for a comprehensive vocational evaluation.

Interpretations use the O*NET framework for interests, work context, and work values, and U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics categories for typical entry-level education. Workplace-support suggestions are exploratory and informed by NIOSH guidance on job control, scheduling, supportive supervision, and healthy work design.
